TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine today
announced a new chief executive officer for the
Schools Development Authority and a new
commissioner for the New Jersey Department of
Transportation (NJDOT).
Governor Corzine recommended for appointment
Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri to be the
next chief executive officer of the Schools
Development Authority, replacing departing CEO Scott
Weiner.
“Kris Kolluri has been an outstanding commissioner
of transportation,” said Governor Corzine. “Through
his unique grasp of the many complex issues facing
our vast infrastructure network, he has been able to
create a seamless statewide transportation system. I
fully expect that he will use these same skills to
effectively and successfully lead SDA through its next
phase of school development.”
Governor Corzine also announced that Stephen Dilts,
deputy commissioner for NJDOT, has been
nominated as New Jersey’s next transportation
commissioner, and will serve as acting
commissioner pending confirmation by the Senate.
“As we move forward with transportation infrastructure
projects critical to New Jersey’s future, we are
fortunate to have a leader of Steve’s caliber to see
them to fruition,” Governor Corzine said. “Steve has
been tested on all levels of transportation
administration and oversight, and his expertise will be
a tremendous asset for the department and the state
Dilts has served as deputy commissioner of NJDOT
since March 2006 and is responsible for the day-to-
day operations of the agency. He oversees traffic
operations, information technology, roadway
maintenance, capital program management,
planning, finance, administration, civil rights and
affirmative action. NJDOT’s capital program supports
the movement of more than $7 billion worth of goods
and over 100,000 jobs. From 2002 to 2006, Dilts
served as chief of staff and deputy executive director,
operations, at the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
